As words must be our medium, a poem,

Perhaps, may best my birthday wishes send,

Poems being inner portraits out on loan.

Duckie, don't feel bad about missing my bday, I know everyone is in a tizzy about 2.0, including me, LOL. And it's not like MySpace where there are birthday reminders! I'm just so happy to see all these kind wishes!! It's really sweet!! I will def be checking out the Roc, btw.

OMOM, it was not the bestest of bdays, as far as celebrating me, darn it, LOL. It was a day of being a mom. We're going to have a special dinner another night. Last night was Taco Bell after practice. My dh had to work at a clients office pretty far away, so he got home kinda late while I was with the middle bobble at practice, but he took the little one out to get stuff to make a cake anyway, so at least we yummy cake at like 9:30pm. So the day wasn't so great but it ended nicely.

Today was our first day back to work after the summer break so we had a birthday celebration for the summer birthdays, there's 3 of us with August birthdays.

And my birthday present from my dh was the The Office DVD and gift set with the Fun Run shirt, water bottle, and awareness bracelet!!

This birthday extension stuff is awesome!!!

That is a very good present bam! My dh just now got me a b-day present (yeah remember my b-day from July lol) and I just went out to eat with my rl best friend for my b-day Saturday so I have been celebrating for an even longer time!

Thanks Bam-I know how to make things last...My wdh has owed me ten dollars for some fund raiser someone had and I've been getting free lunches ever since. Plus I get the cookie dough he ordered...win win.

Speaking of fund raisers...Dononan got his papers for his fundraiser today. We are selling all kinds of really good stuff like expensive chocolate and wrapping paper. They are selling magazines too...interested?? And Krispy Kreme coffee...is that good coffee? I have never been to KK. Another rant brought to you by...SA.

I know SA, I hate those fundraisers and I hate paying for over-priced crapola I didn't need anyway!! Some years I just wrote a check to PTA instead of buying stuff. I buy cheap wrapping paper at the after-Christmas sales. And I mostly use (re-use!) bags for birthdays and other occasions anyway.

The Junior High's in our district do a magazine fundraiser and the prices are good, so that one I don't mind because I don't feel like I'm getting ripped off.

I have never had Krispy Kreme coffee either.

His has magazines with it too so that is what I will be doing and it comes with a free gym bag...so not too bad at all! I have lots of wrapping paper so I don't need any of that stuff either. The horrible thing is that they have a party and you have to have a minimum amount of sales for your kid to go...so unfair!

My son lucked out one year, he only had to sell like 3 magazines and then he qualified to participate in the "pig race" in his homeroom since his teacher won the homeroom race. Well, his pig won that race so he got to choose between this really cool expensive boogie board or a game cube. He chose the boogie board. That was so awesome!

Dononan would want to switch schools if he knew about this. Pig races! Like real pigs? Is it the same pigs from the fair? I love those things! He was picked at the fair last year and his pig won so he got some little prize for that. I will probably end up with two more magazine subscriptions. For a total of like 5 magazines or something.

Don't worry d, you didn't miss it, apparently we're having a grand celebration that keeps going on and on!! It's dawesome!! I'm just glad to see you back on-line!!

SA, they weren't real pigs, but I guess it was still really fun. They were those little battery operated animals, the ones where their legs move and they walk and then stop and oink, then walk some more. The teachers all competed first with bigger pigs and his teacher won that, so then later that week all the kids in her homeroom got little pigs and my son won that race. The pigs were really cute. I feel bad for one of the girls because her pig was doing really well and my son's pig started drifting to the side and ran into her pig and it knocked her pig off course, but straightened my son's pig out and he ended up winning.

So we had a meeting at the school district office today for all the high school food service employees and I was very disappointed that our school didn't live up to it's reputation and get into trouble this year. I wouldn't have the guts to do anything myself since I'm still the new person, but it would have been a fun distraction!

Good news! We don't have to make a couple thousand tater tots every day anymore!!! YAY!!!!! They ditched the tots for baked potato chips!

Yeppers, I am a lunch lady! It's great part time hours and I'm off the same days as my bobbleheads so it works for me. They pay pretty well here, not sure what subs make, though.

So, is everyone else's kids schools like Colorado's? I swear, my kids have 1 to 2 days off a month for Teacher Work Days. They used to go home early on Wednesdays, but the stopped doing that this year. When the Holiday season's approach, it seems like they are never in school. I don't remember having that many days off when I was in school.

Our kiddos are out for teacher work day like once a month and sometimes twice and month on the month that report cards go out. Crazy! The kids like it though. I would rather just have that extra week of summer or something...I bet the teachers probably would too. We get an entire week off for Thanksgiving here which I know never happened when I was little.

The next school day off is October 9th! It's Yom Kippur, but they call it Fall Recess. I can hardly wait for the day off!!

They are doing the early out days here in Cali, too. My Junior High bobblehead has every Monday as early out. The high school bobbleheads have late start days like every 3-4 weeks. They love that late start!!

I remember in elementary school the straws for the milk were made of paper! Once you started drinking through it, the softening process would start. By the end of lunch it was kinda limp. (TWSS) And it started to taste papery, too.

My poor middle bobblehead. Her soccer team is really struggling. They lost again today, badly. They have 3 losses and 1 tie. They moved up to the top bracket in So Cal this year so it was gonna be a tough year anyway, but now they have 4 injured girls and they just can't seem to get it done. They had one girl come back today, but then their top scorer sprained her ankle during the game.

Yeah, it's too bad because this year it's really important to have a good season because the top 8 teams get picked to play in a league that is respected by colleges. She never really cared about that until she went to a college seminar that her soccer club had and she realized that playing soccer in college could be a reality if things go well.

Hey BAM, glad to see it's still your birthday. If you run out of Dwight bobbleheads I was able to get some of the Dwight head stress relievers at Target the other day. I bought several and my grandson chewed on one the whole time we were in the store. It worked to relieve his stress. I'm a little embarrassed to admit how much of that stuff I got from the dollar bins, but I'm glad I did. On the 25th my Target put out all the stuff I had been hunting for and had it all on the end bin. I even got some mouse pads and coffee mugs.

oooooo, I wanted a Dwight stress head! Ours was really picked over, but I got TWSS post-its.

Lucky for my daughter she won the first branch give-away and she got some cool stuff from our RM. She was so happy! Now she's rocking Jr High with Talking Pam pens, a little notebook, and post-its. And she has a wipe board for her room.

She's doing so much better! *knocks on wood* And she's finally getting her fitness back. She's been playing the whole game (80 minutes at this age) and she was barely able to make it until this weekend. So yay!! Thanks for asking!

the 12 yr old is playing fall lacrosse (a relaxed season of it..) and the 10 yr old is playing flag football. The 14 yr old is doing fencing at the local community center.....the 13 yr old decided to take a break this fall (wimp, lol)
