NEW IN DMI 3.0

Quote

Sure you can! If you are not a member of DMI, and not logged into one of our networks like myNBC, you may browse our Task page, play any of our games, create your own custom Office artwork using our Design Tool (this tool can be found embedded in our creative tasks), read the message boards (DMI Forum), and rate any photos or video on the site. If you are not a DMI member, but are logged in using myNBC (or a sister network like BuyMore or The Biggest Loser League), you may do all of the above-mentioned things but you may also leave comments on any DMI member's profile, or comment on any photos and video.

Huh? So we might see comments from non-DMI folks - could get confusing, but might generate more employees. I'll bet we can do the same, be logged in here and then visit the BuyMore.

Quote

Employees in DMI must attain at least Sb $2000 (all employees start with Sb $1000) before they're allowed to apply to a branch. All employees will automatically be hired into the first branch to which they apply. No approval process is necessary.

Which means fewer $1K clones. Or the 1 time looky loos.

Quote

If Regional Managers are concerned about employees not pulling their weight, know that every branch will automatically designate employees as inactive when they have not participated in three or more of the most recent tasks. This "inactive" designation will prevent those users from being counted toward the entire branch's overall total.

Quote

Firing an employee or manager can only be done at Corporate's discretion, if the employee is acting abusive or posts inappropriate content. Any employee can be flagged and reported to Corporate; each case will be dealt with in due course.

If an employee doesn't participate in at least three of the most recent tasks, they will receive a notification email stating their employee status is in jeopardy. They will then be given two weeks to return to the site and complete a task. If there is still no response from the employee, they will be moved into the "Freelance" group and their SchruteBucks will no longer count towards their branch's total or average. This is done so that inactive employees do not negatively impact their branch's success.

These last two seem to contradict eachother. The first one says 3 tasks = inactive, but the second one says 3 tasks = email warning and then two weeks before inactive status.

Quote

In the world of DMI, Regional Managers hire take on the most important leadership role within their branch, organizing task participation and relay important information given to them by Corporate. They moderate their branch's forum, participate in the Regional Manager private forum, approve employee transfers, choose Employee of the Week and Month, gift an award to their Employee of the Week, create polls, and submit some tasks for their branch to Corporate.

Gifting!!?? I hope this is more than just the certificate and we have an expense account for it.

Quote

If they complete the current week's task and have a branch task participation rate of 50% or higher, they will receive a personal bonus of Sb $25.

Ooh, RM payment? Participation rate of >50%? Ouch.

Quote

Regional Managers will be fired if they fall inactive and have not appointed an Acting Regional Manager in their absence. Regional Managers may also be fired from the branch at the discretion of Corporate. If Corporate receives numerous complaints/abuse reports from a branch's members about the conduct of their Regional Manager, Corporate may exercise judgment by transferring them out of their branch. The fired employee may then have the opportunity to join another branch.

Hopefully the deadbeat RMs will be removed sooner and their branches won't have to suffer.

Quote

New employees (they are all "Temps") start off with a Sb $1000 signing bonus. If you are new to DMI, the $1000 will also be available to spend on your virtual desk. If you are a returning DMI employee, the $1000 will only be shown in your Sb Earned column.

So 2.0 employees don't get that initial $1K for spending, just goes towards our overall total. Interesting.

Now, on our branch profiles:

Quote

Your branch's statistics: how many total Sb from all its employees, the average Sb total per employee, tasks the branch has won, and the Employees of the Week & Month. Employees of the Week and Month are awarded to a deserving Employee by the branch's Regional Manager.

A list of all Branch Employees.

Your Regional Manager's name and photo.

A Recent Discussions/Forum message board. This message board is private and can only be viewed by employees in your branch.

Your branch's video and photo submissions. All branch employees will vote to choose which submissions they want the Regional Manager to submit to Corporate for tasks that require this.

Polls. Regional Managers will create polls as a means to gauge the branch's opinions on a variety of topics.

Virtual break room. Similar to the virtual desk, the break room is a place where branch items can reside, and where branch members can go for live chat.

Branch activity feed. This news feed will contain updates on all the actions that your branch members are doing the site.

Quote

How does voting work for tasks?

In order for an employee to vote, s/he must be have earned at least Sb $2000. For tasks that feature a voting component: After a task's deadline, branches will each receive their own voting pages so they can choose a winner from their branch. You will not be permitted to vote for your own entry.

All the winners from each branch will then be voted on by all branches, as well as non-DMI employees who are allowed to vote as well, to decide an Overall Winner.

In global votes, branches may not vote for their own entry. Employees, regardless of the number of accounts they hold, may only vote once in the global vote unless specifically stated in the Voting Guidelines for that task.

DMI reserves the right to void any votes gained from "clone" accounts (multiple employee accounts created solely for the purpose of gaining additional votes) or votes that appear, in DMI's sole discretion, to be invalid.

Cuts down on clone voting. But there are cases when non-DMI employees will be voting? We've all seen how well that goes (front page advantage). Nothing has been said about rotating entries on the page (fingers crossed they are going to do the randomizing).

What happened to the favorites section? It was the easiest way to get affinity SB's. Sigh. I feel so lost without a branch.

From the Employee Manual...
"Will someone actually answer my email?
We at Dunder Mifflin Infinity pride ourselves on the level of customer support we offer to all employees. Rest assured we will do our best to address any and all issues. "

Loved reading this... laughed out loud.

The answer should have just been.. maybe... or a flat out no.

"Worked out in time"....

thats what they all say...

So, what if someone is very active mostly on the boards and community, but does not perform the tasks...like myself. Would this then count towards possible inactivity?

I think a lot of these changes are good. But we will have to see how they play out. I am excited about the branch break room. We have needed a chatting place for some time!

It's just the first day. Take a chill pill. Of course there's bound to be glitches today. Give it a couple of days.

From what I read, if you do one task every 3 weeks you will be fine. If you miss 3 tasks in a row you will get a warning notice to complete one in the next 2 weeks.

It's a glitch. Posts are not earning Sbs for anyone. I earned them by commenting but that doesn't seem to be working for everyone either. Make sure you check your "private" tab. That is the only place my Sbs showed up. Comment me and see if it works for you JB.

Kaity is right, we need to give OLC just a little slack today. Opening day is always bound to be filled with glitches. I know we are all very anxious, but things will be working smoothly soon. The trouble is, it's Friday, so we probably have to wait through the weekend.

As for the favorite's section not being there. I kind of like that people have to work for the SBs instead of just clicking "update" over and over. Maybe this will bring more people into the forums to earn their affinity.
