The whole concept of DMI is that you join a branch - and that branch competes against all the other branches in tasks, games and the like in order to earn 'Shrutebucks' - the branch with the collective amount of average SB's at the end of the game is declared the winner - with similar awards on an individual scale.
So what the hell are all these alliances for?
Sure, they'll tell you it's all in the name of fun and games, a chance for you to get to know people outside of your branch. And some people in the alliance may honestly believe this. Strange how, if you did want to get to know other DMI members outside of your branch, that you would want to limit that to just those that are joined up to a certain club...and why you would need to form a whole network of 'alliance branches' for a local meet and greet? what if one branch chose not to partake in the alliance? would they still be invited to the local meet and greet?
There just seems something very strange in making a group that only certain branches can join depending on their geographical status in the real world for the sole purpose of being more social?
Especially as you don't seem to have to be part of the alliance in order to contribute to the 'fun'
Then what is the point of having an alliance if anyone can join in the fun? Yes...what is the point? Hmmm well I don't see one unless there was some sort of dark, sinister hidden agenda? Perhaps to do with vote rigging or something???
It seems to me, that alliances are groups apparently formed in order to be more social but can only be joined by branches based on their national geographical position...Hmmmm....
...
wait...
National Socialism?
