I was just wondering how do you decorate your desk? Are you rewarded gifts or can you buy them or what? I'm new to this so let me know! Thanks!

You get to buy desk items with the SB's (Schrute Bucks) that you earn. Just click on your desk and the click on "buy more items." Every week you can earn 100 SB's just for posting in the forum or adding pictures to your profile, etc. There is a new task added each week worth anywhere from 50-400 SB's. Hope that helps and welcome to DMI. :)

This may be of help to you too. DMI Manual

Last year they instituted a new rule that you have to have passed the $3400sb earnings before you could 'gift' to a fellow employee (cut down on gifting clone accounts).

Thank you Ducks, for being kind with a newbie! I love that you didn't jump down LJ's throat about the manual and what not. Thanks from an old timer that appreciates seeing kindness.

DMI now believes in helping new people. Glad things have changed within the last week or so. :)

That's good, Kaity. It's very easy to rag on them.

This may sound silly, but I'm still kind of confused on how to send gifts. Any tips? Thanks in advance!

Click on someone's desk on their profile and then buy a gift. There should be a button at the bottom left, I can't recall too well. It'll show you how much SBs you have when you go into the shop, and then when you click on an item, it'll show you how much you'll have when you buy that item.

Like Jade said, except you cannot gift for people until you are a Suplier Relations Specialist. This was a new rule created by HR last year to reduce clone accounts gifting for the primary account, like kona said before.

Ah! Good point, champy. I completely forgot about that. Though, I'm not sure if they're instating that this year as a rule, but it would help a lot. I'm guessing the rule still applies.

I think they are. I mean, I tried gifting for someone, and was unable to.

Nope, sorry. Click on someone else's desk and no option for gifting comes up (yet). Going to be another month to get to that level.

Oooh, just in time for Xmas!

Is it possible for us to create our own mega desk on DMI? That would be so cool.

No.

But it is possible to earn your SBs by posting in the Rec Room.
