Growing Disheartened takes too long to join a branch

This year's foolishness regarding delayed branch eligibility is getting discouraging.

I participate in every challenge, use the forums and am generally involved -- but I'm getting very frustrated at the slow road to 2,000 points.

It is particularly frustrating when challenges involved branch results and I'm left out in the cold.

This sucks. I'm trying not to give up and quit spending time here ...

Anybody else growing disheartened and on the fence as a result?

Don't give up.

You're really close.

It hasn't been easy for any of us to get to our branches, but half the fun, in my opinion, was the road to get there.

I think making it more of a challenge to get to the branch has made each of us appreciate our branches more. At least it has for me. :)

There are still quite a few people who aren't in branches yet (including me). Just keep working at it.

You'll get there.

Don't give up. Just keep at it.

We're cheering you on. We know you can do it.

Mr. Rogers knew you could do it, too.

Also, be sure to hit up the Rec Room for some easy, mindless Affinity points!

It's really worth it-earning the bucks gets you in, but once you're there, it's just SOOOOOO much fun!!

Even those of us who've been here since the beginning had to wait to get into our branches. Just be patient! It'll happen!

You don't have that long to go to 2000. Don't give up!

Casavon is right. Even those of us who have been here since day one have had to earn our SBs.

DMI 3.0 has been equal opportunity in that respect. We're all even steven and on the same playing field.

Please don't be discouraged. Get on here and talk to us. Tell us how you're doing.

You'll earn your affinities and be on your way before you know it.

If we could get paid for the tasks (Gossip anyone?), then people could get into their branches a lot sooner.

Hey guys!!!...

Dont give up, I know it's been very tough with the new site problems and the target but I'm sure that most of you are really not as far away as you think. Who knows what task is around the corner to speed up your $2000!!.

Stay Positive because the end result is most definately worth it!

If your looking around for a great family branch (2nd in 2.0) with great team-mates, tons of fun activities, great competitions, plenty of recognition and creative input then Cheyenne is most definately for you.

Come take a peek at the rowdy crowd!!

don't give up! you'll get there; it was definitely a little frustrating having to wait to get to the 2000 SBs, but it's also definitely worth the wait! It seems like they might be holding off on the voting/winning entries for other tasks until more people have the chance to join their branches? I know I can't say that for sure, but still, I really hope people still waiting to rejoin their branches will hang in there!!

how can it be fun when you get into the branches when you do get in and there isn't hardly anyone there.

When I joined my branch there were only a few peple there, but it was still a lot of fun, and now that more people are coming it's even more fun. It's all about the comradery, not the numbers! :) (for me, anyway ...)

You get to know the people that are there and then make your own fun. Chat on your forum, start an inner-branch game, lots of things you can do.

Go out and recruit new people who are starting to reach that magic 2000 number and are looking for a branch to join. Tell them how great your branch is because you made your own fun....

If you enjoy it, others will to.

If you go around telling others how miserable you are, no one will want to join your branch and you will be still be lonely and unhappy, my friend. :)

Agreed Mac. Once you reach 2000, which shouldn't be long if you are getting affinity bucks then you're in...I think it makes the activities that much better since everyone in the branch actually wants to be there and will be active. I've made some great friends with the people in my branch. Keep posting on the boards and you'll be in before you know it!

I know it's frustrating Duffey, but if you built it, they will come. Keep hanging out around here because there are new people still looking for a branch to join.

I am not sure that you have missed out on the branch voting task. So far it hasn't happened for Niagra Falls. I am not sure if OLC is giving people more time to get in to a branch, but you didn't miss it as far as I know, if you submitted it and are in before the vote.

Anyone out there know how that will work and when the voting will happen? I am curious to see what everyone submitted.

nobody said it was gonna be easy
or how about this cliche -> anything worth having is worth fighting or working for.

keep the faith - and i'm still a working to get my 2k schrute bucks too.
then comes the tough decision.... selecting a branch. and i still have to figure out
the criteria that will determine which branch to join.

Sabres is right, Duffey. Start some fresh threads, or bump some good older ones. The forum will look slow if a lot of the first page threads have last update dates that go back a couple of weeks or more. Make it look fresh and current.
