Hey, I need some support. I just made a new toolbar and would like some feedback. You can download it at http://IndieDeveloper.OurToolbar.com/ and is free and doesn’t contain a virus. Just download, use, and give me feedback by posting here or sending me an email at bhooks1234@yahoo.com

Thanks for moving this topic. I realised I had put it into the wrong topic after I posted it.

You might want to give a *lot* more detailed information on this toolbar if you want people to take you seriously, because as of right now you just come off as trying to scam people. No one I know is just going to rush out and download an executable to their computer without having all of the facts. You give no information as to what this is about, what the toolbar is attached to, nothing. Even at that rate, almost all toolbars have some sort of program/adware/spyware attached - thanks, but no thanks.

Aside from all of that, can't you just use it yourself on a different computer and test it yourself?
Or do you really expect the public at large to be your guinea pigs for a product that will probably damage their OS?

I know this will sound like something that a person who has a virus in their product would say, but I used a reliable site called conduit.com and it is totally free. It is based on my website indiedeveloper.wordpress.com so it might have a limited appeal. Maybe you don't like people who develop games or you just don't want to help out, and I don't hold anything against you for that. I would just like some feedback from other people

No, you just need to provide a lot more information about this product if you seriously want people's help, especially given that it's a downloadable program. You say it might have a limited appeal, but with no information on the product, it has zero appeal. What does this toolbar do that others do not? Is it attached to any other program? What makes it special? What was your reason for developing it? Do you not have a pool of friends/family to test it first before going to the general public?

Since you keep asking about it, why don't you just try it and stop trying to tear it down. I made it for my website at indiedeveloper.wordpress.com just to see if I could get some downloads

Well most normal people don't just click random things, especially without information on the program... That's why she is asking for information on your toolbar.

Specs? Why your toolbar over google/yahoo? Etc.?

I wouldn't randomly click a link in a forum because you simply say "just try it," now that's not a good way to advertise/promote your product at all.

I feel like it's one of those 'click here to win a million dollars' type of things.

Look, I get that maybe you think this is stupid but some people might actually like this idea. If you don't then just leave this forum alone and stop pointing out everything that you see it wrong. I was just trying something out and wanted some public feedback from people that would use it since it is made for this site.

And yet you've still given no details on either toolbar.
Clearly, there is something to hide *otherwise* you would have given all of the information possible so that your prospective users/testers know what they are downloading and why, and what it will do to their computer.

Another question: why a toolbar for DMI? What will this toolbar do?
Information is everything!

No one is tearing anything down. There is nothing to tear down yet.

But in today's internet smart people do not randomly/blinding click on links that suggest downloading something FROM A STRANGER because that is how viruses and trojan horses are spread.

How about giving us some information about your tool bar. WHY would we want to test it for you? WHAT does it do that we don't have already? HOW is it different from other tool bars?

We're actually trying to HELP you find beta testers. Remember, honey attracts more testers than vinegar. :)

Unless we are talking about french fries, then I'll choose vinegar over honey. I'm not helping am I?

Honey drizzled over warm buttered biscuits sounds *so* good right now.

There should be a way that we could enjoy buttered biscuits while on the computer. If only there was a toolbar for that...
