Branch Break Room Chat? Broken promises.

Love,

---------------------
In all seriousness, Corporate said this year they would be implementing a Live Virtual Break Room this season. Where is it? Not here, clearly. If they had done this from the start of 3.0 it would've been great for activity. As it is we're losing employees all the time because they're just bored out of their minds.
Corporate, if you're not going to do this, please take down my hopes and dreams from the employee manual.
Who wants Branch Chat?
This post is dedicated to DMItheguy.
I love you secretly.

I like the sound of "similar to the virtual desk" and "branch items". It will go perfectly with regifting.
Thanks, JadeCorsett!
Soul-mates are people who bring out the best in you. They are not perfect but are always perfect for you.

------------
just had to contribute my n00biness to this thread.
I seriously wish we had this. Way to not follow through on an apparent promise corporate.
How about next year, you figure out how you're going to fun the site on your own before you start promising us things.
I realize the bunchball relationship ended, and if y'all are having a hard time figuring this out, why not tell us so that we know what's going on and so that we might not be on your backs all the time.

I just remember them telling us it would be up and running within weeks of dmi 3.0 starting, and now they haven't even brought it up again.
Did the bunchball thing end after 3.0 started or before?

You used to say things like....

Last year I would always tell people that if they wanted something to get done, make a thread. That applied to last year only when corporate actually read the threads. This year, they rarely do. Sending them emails has been much more efficient.
If they actually listened to our threads, they'd have gotten the branch chat up by now, fixed the branch page screw ups, fixed the profile bugs, etc. Making continuous petition like threads won't be the reason they change anything, unfortunately.
If you ACTUALLY want anything done, send HR a bazillion emails. Eventually, they'll see it.

I agree with Jade (BBB, c'mon, you could have been a little nicer to the guy.. but I totally get it). If they actually had been reading through all of the threads, many more glitches & bugs would have been fixed by now. I think you have good intentions at heart, and thank you for wanting DMI to be a better, more useful and resourceful place for us all - but while 'the squeaky wheel gets the grease', this only happens to be true when you use the 'Feedback' email to HR. I know you'd like to think that your posts are what is making the change, and again - I know you only acted with your best intentions - but unfortunately, that isn't the case.
As BBB said, there are two chat rooms (that I know of) that exist, created by other users.

Both of these chat rooms are great places to interact with others, and to just kick back and have some fun. No, they're not created by NBC - but do they really need to be?
My best advice is to just relax, enjoy DMI for what it is as it is right now, email HR as often as you see fit (rather than creating a bunch of threads), and - like the rest of us - remain somewhat optimistic for things to eventually be fixed.

... and then there are those of us who have been around since DMI started two years ago, who have seen a lot of things happen and fail to happen, who know how OLC operates the site, and how things actually are fixed around here. We are called 'realistic' - not 'snide', 'selfish', 'condescending', or 'pessimistic'. Yes, sometimes a post like that may occur - but for the most part, you will find old-timers here who are just willing to help and offer *realistic* advice, which should be taken as such.
All three of us who replied (Jade, BBB, and myself) have been here a *long* time. We know how things work. You can choose to ignore our advice and constructive criticism, or you can listen to it and learn a few things.

To all my followers: Let's not hate the players, hate the game! Although I don't mean hate literally, because we all really love DMI, you know what I mean. Let's just all get along!

Who the **** are you? Thanks for taking the time to imitate me. I feel honored!
And Petey_Wonder... zip it. I didn't even bother reading your post.

Why don't you spend the same amount of time it took you to make up an awesome Jade-like profile, and write a pithy e-mail to corporate, about anything on DMI that you are passionate about and would like to see changed.
And then let us know it you get a response.
I for one would be interested in what they'd have to say, since we don't hear much from them anymore.
Back to the subject of this thread, I too was looking forward to the promised chat room.
Why advertise a new feature unless it's a done deal?

The only thing I can think of is what someone had said above with bunchball not being used by corporate anymore.
There are so many things on that employee manual they promised that still haven't come into fruition including branch polls, branch activity feed, etc.
Fake Jade can kiss my ass!

But I guess he/she had to start somewhere. She/he forgot the link to Evil though...
Yeah, the branch related stuff was what I was looking forward to.
I thought having that would be good for the newer people to feel included and more involved.
